Have you signed the fashion revolution manifesto? (Link in my bio) @fash_rev #fashionrevolution #makersforfashrev
Farewell long flowing locks and hello choppy ‘do’. My hairdresser nailed it. It was time to say farewell. @kcookson31 awesome job Kristie!
New lease: this was once an unloved mans suit found in the charity shop. I gave it a new lease of life by upcycling it into a dress! (yes I dare to claim it as in upcycle). I used every scrap available to me, reusing the original lining and make hundreds of pieces of rouleau ribbons from the scraps to form the shoulder embellishments. It was absolutely a labour of love and embodies my goal of slow and considered sewing. #makersforfashrev #fashrev #fashionrevolution @fash_rev @inthefolds #slowsewing #upcycling #refashion
I am joining #makersforfashrev this year, hosted by @inthefolds . So far, off to a flying start as my IG feed is dripping in fashion revolutionaries, what a joy to see! I am always happy to say that #imademyclothes and in the last year or so my sewing has become much more considered and slow. I am using second hand fabric wherever I can but I do buy new fabric and I would very much like to know #whomademyfabric ? My latest fabric purchase is by Kokka. I’m making a #collinstop for my sister with the teal and cream brush stroke fabric. Tell me @kokka.fashion_textile who made my fabric? #fashionrevolution #fashrev
Camouflage: when matching your furniture becomes a thing! My beautiful ‘street-find’ stool has been re-covered and painted by my very talented Mum. I loved this @tessutifabrics fabric so much that I bought the ponte and cotton-satin versions, lucky I did really. Couldn’t love this more!
This is my little Mum! She’s over here in Sydney at the moment, enjoying the last few rays of summer and wrangling my kids. Mum was given some Thai silk from a friend and asked me to make a casual dress for her. I had made the @marillawalker #robertscollection top for her a couple of years ago (swipe to see). So why reinvent the wheel? I hacked the pattern by adding some length and inseam pockets. Worked a treat. I think it’s just beautiful and she’s pretty happy, which is a huge compliment from a woman who takes even the most basic garment back to M&S at least 20 times. #thaisilkdress #robertscollectionhack #robertcollectiontop
