About

Brought up in the North of England to a thrifty and industrious family, I have been sewing, crafting, bargain hunting, refashioning and upcycling for what seems like forever. So after many years in the graphic design industry I thought it was time to get hands on.  I now teach kids and adults how to sew. This blog is full of ramblings, ideas, craft and sewing projects that I hope will inspire.

  1. Hi, what kind of sewing machines do you recommend, for various stages of learning/sewing – beginner through intermediate?

    1. Interesting question! My belief is you can sew on anything from vintage machines, charity store finds or top of the range. My machines are charity store finds mostly so no fancy electronics or settings. As long as you get them serviced regularly all should be well. I don’t think you need to upgrade for your skill unless there is something particular you want to achieve. Hope that helps X
